Gretsch was founded in 1883 by German immigrant Friedrich Gretsch. In the 1950’s and 1960’s Gretsch’s popularity soared with the introduction of a series of inspired, now-classic models such as the 6120 Chet Atkins, the White Falcon, the Duo Jet, The Country Gentleman, and others. Throughout the years, many famous artists such as Chet Atkins, Duane Eddy, George Harrison, Pete Townsend, Mike Campbell, Jack White, and many others have used Gretsch guitars live and on countless classic recordings.
In 2002 Gretsch and Fender reached an agreement giving Fender control over marketing, production, and distribution of the guitars, while the Gretsch family maintained ownership. These modern era Gretsch guitars are said to be among the best if not the best in the history of Gretsch guitars. Modern construction techniques are mixed with the designs and practices of the classic era to bring the highest level of quality control and performance to these timeless guitars.
At Lauzon Music, we offer a great selection of Gretsch “Professional Collection” and U.S. Masterbuilt Custom Collection guitars.
